Thousands of POD sellers pay $10–40/mo for trend tools, so willingness-to-pay is proven; nobody bundles real-time velocity with trademark clearance. That's the wedge. The honest limits:

Velocity coverage: the live, keyless, server-reachable rising-phrase source is Hacker News (Algolia API). It is real and genuinely real-time, but it skews tech / product / brand / startup — it is not broad consumer-retail. Treat it as one strong velocity signal for those niches, not the whole market. Reddit's keyless feed is rate-limited from servers, so we don't depend on it.

Trademark clearance: as of 2026-06-18 the USPTO retired its keyless public trademark search and now requires an ID.me-verified API key for automated search. Automated clearance is currently in honest manual-verify mode: we return the phrase, a clearance status of UNVERIFIED, and a deep link to the free official USPTO search — we never fake a 'clear' verdict.
